Assault rifle design. Another rejected concept.
The design is pretty simple, inspired by the French FA-MAS and the Chinese QBZ-95. It has a helical magazine, which I think makes for a more streamlined profile. The switches near the mag sleeve would release it. The corkscrew would then be discarded by either using gravity or physically pulling it out. The cocking handle is under the top rail. The space under the sight is where an ammo count would be. A corkscrew is at the bottom. I suppose it would've been carried in some kind of cast-off/disposable plastic wrapping. It would carry 45 rounds. There's no trigger, since the lead said to stop modelling them. I'm sure MD stood for something, but I can't remember what it was The design was rejected mostly since reload issues while prone might arise. It has the typical lambert material. This was at least a month after any of the early weapons. By that time some design restrictions were employed.
I was actually not supposed to work on the rifle, but several people dropped out. Although someone else designed the final concept -- I ended up modeling it.

Well, the thought never really occurred to me . . . I guess it would depend on the circumstances. It would be very cool if someone was somehow inspired by my designs and actually made it. I'd be very bummed if I saw it on TV or such being used against civilians or the like. . . . . . Hopefully that won't happen
they are a lot of fun to draw though

Save for the magazine, your rifle here looks extremely plausible and ergonomic for a shooter to use. I would certainly love to fire it!
